Let your husband support you for awhile. Also, have you tried some volunteer work at a library? I know it's not ideal, but it will get you out of the house. I know how you feel, but please try to enjoy the jobless state for all of us who are working and would love to kick back with a Long Island Iced Tea. :)

Well congratulations. And good luck on the rest of the moving process!

Speaking as someone who splashed out on her last move and rented a van rather than doing eight round trips in her car, I really really do.

I am trying to remember what we did for our two cats, who aren't skittish, but aren't really good travelers. I know we had a calming spray and that did help. I know we had catnip.. also helped. Classical music pretty much the entire way. And just making sure to keep familiar smells (blankets, toys, etc.) in their carriers and get them used to the (smaller, more portable) food & water bowls and litter pan we used along the way a week or so before we left. Also, since we caravanned with two cars, one of us would always be in the car with them with the air on if it was too hot or windy (scary wind noise!) while the other got food/went to the restroom/etc. Also, we made sure and carried them up to the hotel room first and away from the hustle and bustle of the main lobby (we went in back doors), before any bags, to make sure they got comfy right away. Probably all stuff you've thought of, but throwing it all out there!

Schlitterbahn! Hee!

I have to admit that I am secretly (sometimes not-so-secretly) delighted when the Tony is out of town for a few days, or when I'm home during the day and he's at work. I clean much more efficiently and enjoy the rare feeling of being "home."

However, we have a tiny apartment with virtually no privacy (especially once the Xbox/PS3/Wii is turned on, which it is almost the entire time he's home). Also, we're still new at the co-habitation chore-splitting thing, so I end up being (or feeling) responsible for almost all the chores anyway.

Hope things straighten out soon!

'as my mother so bluntly put it “Since you’ve met him you’re not nearly the high strung pain in the ass you used to be.”'--gawd, I love your mom. No, I love your family. No, I love my adopted family. That's it. Good luck; it will all work out. You have a great boy and cute cats to get you through it and professionally, you kick butt and take names. Seriously, I was told by someone on your interview panel that, in not quite those words, of course.

I'd like to stay some place a tad higher class than a Motel 6. I'm used to staying in hotels that give me reward points and airline miles. :)

Good to know about Motel 6 - my main priority for a hotel room is that under the bed is solid. Screw comfort, amenities, etc... Don't make me have to flush cats out from under the bed and into a carrier. It'd be easier to have lasting peace in the mideast.
